August 13 -- Hot Irish newcomer Colin Farrell is riding high with a $5 million paycheck, a new gig opposite Al Pacino, and a new bride.

The 25-year-old actor will star opposite Pacino in The Farm, a suspense thriller set to start shooting this November, Variety reports. Farrell, who has nabbed a series of A-list films since breaking out in last year's Vietnam War-era picture Tigerland, will play a young CIA operative who is double-crossed by his mentor (Pacino).

Farrell's $5 million payday for the film is a significant figure considering that he hasn't yet proved his worth at the box office. However, the Irish import should soon become a household name thanks to back-to-back gigs opposite Bruce Willis in the World War II drama Hart's War and Tom Cruise in Minority Report roles that were once earmarked for Edward Norton and Matt Damon, respectively. Farrell also nabbed the lead in the thriller Phone Booth, which fell his way after both Jim Carrey and Will Smith passed on it.

The in-demand star, who hits theaters as Jesse James in the western American Outlaws this Friday, reportedly had his share of projects to choose from but decided to sign on to The Farm to work with Pacino.

Farrell just tied the knot, wedding 19-year-old British actress Amelia Warner (who played Michael Caine's young bride in Quills) in Tahiti on July 17, according to USA Today. The pair met at the Nov. 20 premiere of Quills in Los Angeles. The hunky star wore a sarong for the impromptu ceremony. "Basically I was wearing a skirt," he told the newspaper, adding that his planned wedding attire was jeans, a T-shirt, and boots.
