July 3, 2001 -- While some reviewers groused about the lack of chemistry between hot co-stars Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez, the pair, who play lovers in the hot-rod flick The Fast and the Furious, are reportedly hot and heavy in real life.
The New York Daily News reports that Diesel, who gained attention in last year's sci-fi sleeper Pitch Black, and Michelle Rodriguez, whose debut role in Girlfight was much praised, fell for each other on the set of the Universal film.
The two were spotted "canoodling" — that favorite phrase of New York gossipmongers — at New York hangout Float on Thursday night. Rodriguez then reportedly told Howard Stern that her muscle-bound co-star "will be a part of my life for a very long time."
Good, perhaps they'll both be in the inevitable sequel to the surprise No. 1 film.
Diesel, 33, will next be seen in Knockaround Guys, while Rodriguez, 22, is bringing the Lara Croft-ish heroine of Resident Evil to the screen.
Meanwhile, Us Weekly reports that another Furious star, Jordana Brewster, is single again after ending her relationship with Planet of the Apes star Mark Wahlberg.
