Gellar and Prinze Engaged

April 18 -- Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar just drove a stake into the heart of her numerous admirers. The flaxen-haired actress is engaged to marry her boyfriend and Scooby-Doo co-star, actor Freddie Prinze Jr.

The pair's publicist confirmed the couple's pending nuptials today. According to syndicated gossip show Access Hollywood, Gellar and Prinze became engaged last Friday. They reportedly announced their engagement at a party for Gellar's 24th birthday, which was Saturday.

The cozy couple met on the set of their 1997 teen slasher flick, I Know What You Did Last Summer. Prinze previously dated soap actress Kimberly McCullough (General Hospital).
