Sun's Out, Guns Out: Highlights From 1st 'Baywatch' Trailer
Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron and more!
— -- The trailer you've been waiting all year for is finally here. No, not "Fifty Shades Darker," but Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson's "Baywatch."
The first clip went up this morning, and it's two minutes of rip-roaring fun that's an homage to the series, which ran from 1989 to 2001. Johnson posted the full trailer on his Facebook page.
The video opens with Johnson introducing the team and then jumping into a fire raging in the middle of the ocean to save someone. Then, you learn that the "Baywatch" brand is in trouble and funding has been cut for the lifeguards.
Zan Efron's Matt Brody then shows up on the scene, and all heck breaks lose. He's the wild card and local flirt.
"This is the guy you think is a good PR opportunity for us," Johnson's Mitch Buchanan says. "He's reckless."
Buchanan's boss cites Brody's two gold medals and Efron's washboard abs. But when a dead body washes up in the water, Johnson needs to rally the gang and do some investigating work.
The gunfire ensues and all chaos hits. There are also jokes about the slow-motion beach jog and more.
"Baywatch," directed by Seth Gordon, hits theaters next May.
