Reese Witherspoon Wraps Up 40th Birthday With Special Guest

— -- Reese Witherspoon pulled out all the stops to celebrate her 40th birthday.

Just days after throwing a star-studded celebration in Los Angeles, the Oscar winner concluded her birthday festivities over an intimate dinner with one of her close A-list pals.

Witherspoon shared a photo on Instagram of her and fellow Oscar winner Nicole Kidman at the unnamed restaurant Tuesday night -- her actual birthday. In the photo, Witherspoon's smile is literally lit up.

"This is 40," she wrote beside the photo. "I am one lucky gal."

Kidman and her husband Keith Urban were among the guests at Witherspoon's earlier birthday bash on Saturday. Other guests included Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Robert Downey Jr, Tobey Maguire and Kate Hudson, who posted photos from the event.

The music-filled night held at the Warwick in Hollywood, California, featured a live jazz band, a surprise performance by Taylor Swift and even the birthday girl singing "Sweet Home Alabama," accompanied by Urban on guitar.

Witherspoon kicked off her 40th birthday celebrations earlier in the month when she and seven of her close friends jetted off to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

"Paradise Found!" she captioned the picture of her standing on the beach surrounded by her "girl squad."
