Jan. 15, 2006 — -- Celebrity fitness trainer Gregory Joujon-Roche helped Tobey Maguire bulk up for "Spider-Man" and Brad Pitt get toned for "Troy." Now Joujon-Roche offers tips to help you achieve physical fitness.

"Take it outside! I mean, there is nothing better than working out outdoors. If your routine's a little boring, [if] you're getting in a little bit of rut, get outdoors. I mean look at this. Take a walk. Go on a hike. Go on an ocean paddle. Anything you want. You can't miss. Breathe in the air, feel the sand, get outdoors. It is the best thing you could ever do for your workout program. I'm telling you. It's the best thing in the world. Please, exercise outdoors. You'll love it."

"One of the best things you can do for your fitness begins right in the morning. What is it? It's a glass of water -- eight to 12 ounces of water right when you get out of bed. It gets your metabolism moving. It gets your system moving. It wakes you up. It's fantastic. It's a natural cleanser. Water is the elixir of life."

"Let's talk a minute about guilt triggers. What are they? Well, it could be a piece of cake. It could be, 'Oh, I ate too much,' or, 'I ate too little.' Guilt reinforces who we are not. It doesn't serve us. Let it go. You can have your piece of cake. Have it. Enjoy it. Don't let guilt get in your system. Leave it alone. Don't let it sabotage your success."

" 'Ugh, I can't believe I ate the whole thing!' Portion control. You want to feel good when you eat. Here's a great tip for you. When it comes to protein: You're at a restaurant. Whenever you eat fish, chicken or meat, it should fit in the palm of your hand. If it's too big, have the rest to go. Immediately. Don't even eat it. Don't even have it on your plate. A piece of protein fits in the palm of your hand. Portion control. It's that easy."

"Who is at the top of your to-do list? I bet it's not you. When it comes to your day, and your business, and your family and your responsibilities, where do you rank? It is so important to take care of yourself first. Find that time in your day for your fitness. You'll be more productive. You'll be more patient. You'll be more creative. Everyone around you will benefit. Please take that time for fitness. It's so important."
