2022 BAFTAs winners list: 'Dune' dominates with 5 wins

"The Power of the Dog" took home the top award.

The 2022 BAFTAs -- the British equivalent of the Academy Awards here -- took place Sunday with "Dune" dominating the awards show.

The sci-fi epic, directed by Denis Villeneuve, won for original score, cinematography, production design, sound and special visual effects.

While "Dune" was the winningest movie of the night, it was "The Power of the Dog" which took home the top prize: best film. Jane Campion also won the best director honor.

In the acting categories, Joanna Scanlan won leading actress for "After Love" while Will Smith won best actor for "King Richard."

"CODA" star Troy Kotsur and "West Side Story" star Ariana DeBose won for supporting actor and supporting actress, respectively.

"The Harder They Fall" won for outstanding debut by a British writer, director or producer while "Belfast" won for outstanding British film and "Drive My Car" won for film not in the English language.
