Amanda Kloots shares last family photo before husband Nick Cordero's hospitalization
"Life is precious. Time is precious. Health is precious."
It's been nearly one year since the late Broadway star Nick Cordero went to the hospital for health issues that led to his COVID-19 diagnosis.
His widow, Amanda Kloots, shared a family photo this week to remind her followers not to take anything in life for granted.
"Our last family photo taken on my birthday last year. Nick started feeling tired on this night so after dinner we went to bed early," the fitness instructor reflected in the caption. "Nick kept telling me that day, 'next year I’ll give you the best birthday ever.' It was early quarantine days so we felt lost, unable to do anything. Despite that, I still had a lovely day."
Kloots, 38, confessed that sharing the story was difficult for her. "The truth is, this week is very hard and I’m sad," she said. "I’ve been dreading it and it’s caught up to me. This isn’t easy for me, but I truly believe in honoring the highs and lows in grief."
"Life is precious. Time is precious. Health is precious," she went on. "Treasure it all and don’t take it for granted because it’s the best birthday gift you can give yourself and to anyone."
Cordero was hospitalized in late March of 2020 and died on July 5 after battling the virus for nearly 100 days.
"God has another angel in heaven now," Kloots said on Instagram at the time. "I am in disbelief and hurting everywhere. My heart is broken as I cannot imagine our lives without him."
She recently revealed that she was ready to go to therapy and start the healing process after losing her husband of three years.
Kloots and Cordero have a son, Elvis, who is nearly 2 years old.
