Ariana Grande tearfully cancels show due to illness
The singer revealed that she was "in a lot of pain" making it hard to breathe.
Ariana Grande has been battling a nasty illness for quite some time, and it got the better of her. The singer tearfully announced she was too sick to perform her Lexington, Kentucky, performance and had to cancel.
The "7 Rings" artist candidly revealed Saturday that she started feeling sick in mid-October and that she was "in a lot of pain and it's difficult to breathe."
Grande was able to complete her show in Charlottesville, Virginia, on Friday. However, pushing through that show seemingly came at a steep price.
The Grammy-winning star took to her Instagram stories Sunday to say: "I woke up kind of 10 times worse and it hurts so bad to swallow. I'm not really sure what's going on. But I, unfortunately, don't think I will be able to push through tonight. I am so sad and sorry."
The 26-year-old continued hoarsely, "I'm so upset but of course, obviously, you will be refunded. I'm just really devastated. Thank you for understanding and sending love."
She also promised to tell her fans what's wrong with her as soon as she knows.
Grande profusely thanked fans for their outpouring support, but one famous well-wisher completely caught her off-guard.
Barbara Streisand, who has toured since the '60s, reached out on Twitter with some expert health advice.
"Take a strong Vitamin C drink with some Manuka honey and of course get some chicken soup," she urged while sending Grande her love.
Grande, who retweeted the advice, gushed in response, "My goodness. love you so so much. thank you my sweetest."
She then signed off for the night to, hopefully, get some much needed rest.
