'Avengers: Endgame': What's next for Marvel after game-changing film

As always, major spoilers ahead for "Avengers: Endgame," so please be aware.
If you are part of the $1.2 billion in ticket sales that saw the box office-shattering "Avengers: Endgame" over the weekend, there were likely tears shed, some cheering coming from your section of the theater and, yeah, questions about what's next for the Marvel Cinematic Universe and beyond.
Well, don't worry, there is a slew of fun projects coming in film and in series on Disney +, planned or rumored!
Here's a look at what we know is coming and what the plot of the film might have teased or set up through its three hours of action.
1 - 'Spider-Man: Homecoming'
This we know for sure.
Peter Parker is back, thanks to the reverse snap from the Hulk, but he still lost his mentor and friend, Tony Stark, via another snap later on.
Peter will have to deal with this huge loss, as well as keep those close to him safe when the movie hits theaters on July 5.
Jake Gyllenhaal playing the villain Mysterio should help keep his mind off things.
2 - 'Black Panther,' 'Doctor Strange' and 'Captain Marvel' sequels
After the religious movement that both "Black Panther" and "Captain Marvel" were to their respective fan bases, you knew these heroes would be back.
Both Panther and Strange came back to life in "Endgame," and after her $1 billion solo film, Captain Marvel was a big key to stopping Thanos in this movie.
You can certainly expect follow-ups to all of these films in Phase 4.
Nothing has been announced yet, but these heroes are the core of the future of the Avengers.
3 - Sam Wilson as Captain America!
Another big change is that Chris Evans has handed off the baton to Anthony Mackie, who is set to star in his own series with the Winter Soldier star, Sebastian Stan.
It was reported by Variety late last year that this TV series with Cap's former sidekicks was in the works and the Falcon as the new Captain America sure makes for good streaming for Disney +.
4 - The God of Mischief will be back!
Fan favorite Loki was confirmed to be returning in one way or another last year by Disney CEO Bob Iger.
Now, after "Endgame," we may have a clue to how after he was killed off in "Infinity War."
"Marvel Studios is developing a series based on Loki, the god of mischief, to star Tom Hiddleston," a press release earlier this year from Disney read.
In "Endgame," Loki escapes with the Tesseract after the team travels back to 2012 to retrieve it.
That could absolutely be a different timeline now, where the gang, including his brother Thor, have to track him down and get the Cosmic Cube back.
You can never get enough Loki!
5 - Ronin aka Hawkeye
The movie didn't delve too much into Jeremy Renner's run as an anti-hero, which would make the likes of Punisher blush, but fans and critics alike are raving over his bad-a-- role early on in the film.
Hawkeye becomes his other alter-ego, Ronin, after losing his family and deciding killing bad guys is better than stewing in his own guilt.
Hawkeye is a true icon and fan favorite in the books, and his run as Ronin is some of his most beloved arcs.
Nothing announced yet, but a run on Disney + is certainly a strong possibility if the Oscar nominee is game.
6 - Steve and Peggy, a love story for the ages
We may have lost Chris Evans and Captain America in the MCU, but his return to his original time (the 1940's) really sets up the possibility for a new series.
Hear us out.
It could be animated or some other medium, but Evans or some other voice actor could reprise the original Cap reunited with the love of his life. Hayley Atwell already had a run as Carter on ABC, so it wouldn't be crazy for her to come back, too.
At the launch event for Disney +, Kevin Feige said there was a "What If" animated series in the works.
In the books, "What If" was a series that reimagined key moments in the Marvel Universe.
He mentioned that the first episode may feature Carter becoming Cap in the 40's instead of Steve Rogers. Then Rogers later becomes the first Iron Man. If Evans and Atwell do, in fact, come back, voice their characters again, and it's a hit, maybe they'll do more voice-over work?
It's a possibility.
7 - 'The As-Guardians of the Galaxy'
Could there have been a bolder move than having Thor join the Guardians?
After Chris Hemsworth created real magic with the team in "Infinity War," seems like the brass at Marvel decided him teaming up with a jealous Star-Lord would make for cinematic gold.
We agree 100 percent!
James Gunn is going to have an absolute field day with "Guardians 3" and we are totally here for it.
8 - Valkyrie and the new Asgard
Marvel and Disney are all about equality and female empowerment, and what better than a series about Tessa Thompson as the new leader of Asgard?
After Thor made her queen, this could be a great show for young girls and boys alike, with so many teachable moments about overcoming obstacles and building a new community.
Who are we kidding? This will be a show for fans of all ages.
9 - Black Widow
Another film that's definitely coming in the near future has Scarlett Johansson getting her own standalone film as the legendary assassin.
The only question now is, after she sacrificed herself in "Endgame," how will this work?
Chances are the Oscar nominee will be back one more time for an origin story about how she became one of the baddest women in all the world.
"Stranger Things" David Harbour will also star in this film.
10 - Scarlet Witch and Vision
Another pair of fan favorites from the films and the comics is Wanda and Vision. The duo actually gets married in the books.
Vision may have died in "Infinity War," but reports say that the duo will be back in some capacity in the past.
Scarlet Witch certainly had a stand-up-and-cheer moment in the film, taking on Thanos and holding her own.
Actually, she was kind of kicking his butt.
Now Marvel can capitalize on that momentum and bring her back in a series.
Elizabeth Olsen confirmed the series to Variety and said it will, in fact, take place decades ago.
“I think at the Disney+ launch chat, they showed a photo of us in the ’50s,” Olsen told the outlet. "Paul [Bettany] and I are really excited. They have a great group of writers. I think it’s going to be a total of six hours,”
Well, there you have it. This list does NOT even begin to encompass everything coming, but this gives you a solid start.
With a new streaming service coming later this year, the ideas are endless for what fans can expect from all Disney properties, including Marvel.
