Jade and Tanner Tolbert are opening up about the miscarriage that occurred after the duo found love on "Bachelor in Paradise" a couple years back.

In a heartfelt Instagram post and YouTube video, the duo spoke about how they met on the show, fell in love and then had to deal with the heartbreak of losing their unborn child a few months later.

"I had a miscarriage. These words have burned inside me for over three years," Jade Roper Tolbert wrote on Wednesday. "I was honestly so scared to share our story, because I have always had this inner voice that’s said I don’t matter as much, especially when it comes to my struggles or my pain."

But the reality star, who is now a mother to daughter Emerson, decided to share the story to help others who may be dealing with the same grief of losing their baby.

"I’ve also been afraid to tell people Tanner and I got pregnant on Bachelor in Paradise while filming," she admits in the post. "I’ve been keeping this weight for a long time, but being pregnant with our second child, all these emotions have been on the surface for me. I just felt it was time to get it out of me and share our story and honor our baby. Thank you for all the kind words, they’ve made me feel very loved and have made me feel less alone."

The couple, who are expecting their second child this summer and were married in 2016, also posted a video to YouTube, where you can see the pain they still face today.

In the clip, Tanner talked about the "complicated" story of how they conceived on the show and Jade talked about how hard it is to be "vulnerable" telling the world of this miscarriage.

"I kind of grew up in a family that when something happens to you, you kind of sweep it under the rug," Jade explained. "I do think [though] It's something that's important that we do address."

Jade fought back the tears as she explained the processing of losing a baby.

"It wasn't really until after I had Emerson, that I realized how much I love my child now and how amazing of a miracle it is," she said of dealing with the loss all over again. "I really grieved that child much later."

They also talk about the questions they asked like "Why?" after losing a baby and how they were eventually able to move past it and grow their family.

"You kind of just have to trust that everything happens in its own timing and for a reason," she added.
