'The Bachelorette' finale recap: Tayshia Adams and Zac Clark are engaged
Tayshia Adams accepted a proposal from Zac Clark in Tuesday's season finale.
"The Bachelorette" star Tayshia Adams is engaged to Zac Clark.
In the season finale of the show, Adams accepted a proposal from Clark, an addiction specialist from Haddonfield, New Jersey, after saying goodbye to Ivan Hall and Ben Smith.
Telling Adams that he "can't picture another day, another moment without you in my life," Clark proposed, and Adams happily accepted.
"If you let me, I’m going to choose you right now, I’m going to choose you tomorrow morning, I’m going to choose you next week and next year. And [I'll] choose you forever," he told her, just before popping the question. "I love you."
The couple appeared on "Good Morning America" Wednesday to react to the finale and give an update on how they've been doing since filming came to a close months ago.
"It was really beautiful to watch back. I feel like you can really see how much love we have and how authentic and genuine we were," she told "GMA," calling the whole experience a "whirlwind."
Clark added, "The beautiful thing is, all the reasons I fell in love with her on the show remain true today and just like in our daily life, so it was a special night for sure last night to watch it all back."
As for what it has been like keeping their relationship a secret amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Adams said it's made things "a tad bit easier" to sneak around and see each other while Clark gave a "cheers to masks" for helping them keep a low profile.
The pair said they aren't planning on getting married anytime soon and are instead "focusing on the engagement" with plans to continue dating each other. For the record, though, Clark said he wants "a big wedding when the day comes."
Adams, 30, became the star of "The Bachelorette" after the previous franchise lead, Clare Crawley, left the show early. Crawley is currently engaged to former football player Dale Moss, whom she met during production. Meanwhile, Adams' connection with Clark, 36, grew throughout the season, and in part one of the finale Monday, they said "I love you" to each other.
"I know that I love you," Clark said.
"It's just wild, 'cause I love you too," Adams replied. Addressing the camera, Adams gushed, "Zac loves me, and I love Zac."
The next season of "The Bachelor," starring Matt James, premieres Jan. 4 on ABC.
