"Captain Marvel" star Annette Bening revealed some juicy hints about her "godlike" character ahead of the movie's release next week.

Bening's role in the latest Marvel film remained tightly wrapped until a new trailer dropped earlier this week and gave fans a first glimpse of her character, Supreme Intelligence.

"It's kind of fun to have to say 'I can't reveal what's going on,'" she said of the role shrouded in secrecy. "I've never had that experience before -- it was great fun to do it."

Bening is seen on-screen beside Brie Larson, who plays Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, and fans have already speculated if their characters are actually mother and daughter.

"I can neither confirm nor deny, but I will say there is more than what we have revealed," Bening teased.

"I am playing the Supreme Intelligence, I'm a god-like entity -- of course," she said, playfully brushing her hair back and laughing.

Bening, 60, said she "got to read the whole script" and then looked to her own kids for advice about the role.

"I did consult with my kids so they could kind of explain sort of what the history of that is," she said. "Because there's a specific history to the character and I sort of have the entire intellect of the entire Kree people over the last million years in my head."

The 21st film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is set in 1995 and follows the journey of Danvers as she becomes one of the universe's most powerful heroes. When a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom.
