Carlos Santana collapses during Michigan concert due to heat exhaustion, dehydration

The legendary guitarist's manager said in a statement that he's "doing well."

Carlos Santana collapsed onstage during a July 5 concert at Pine Knob Music Theatre, an outdoor amphitheater in Clarkston, located about 40 miles northwest of Detroit, Michigan.

The rock legend, who turns 75 on July 20, was performing when he was "over-taken with heat exhaustion and dehydration," his manager, Michael Vrionis, said in a statement obtained by ABC News.

Santana was taken to the emergency department at a nearby medical clinic for observation and is "doing well," Vrionis continued.

Vrionis said the musician's show for July 6 at The Pavilion at Star Lake in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, will be postponed to a later date, with more details to come from Live Nation.

In December, the iconic guitarist canceled all of the month's performances of his Las Vegas residency at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino to recover from what was described as "an unscheduled heart procedure." Vrionis said he was "doing fantastic" at the time.

Santana also announced in February that he was "doing well" after testing positive for COVID-19.
