Carol Burnett reflects on her legacy ahead of 90th birthday
Burnett said she hopes she "made people laugh" and "made them feel good."
Carol Burnett is looking back on her legacy as she is set to turn 90 later this month.
Burnett, who celebrates her milestone birthday on April 26, told People she wants her legacy to be that "I made people laugh, made them feel good when they might have been down."
"In my fan mail, many say it was the only time the family would get together, to watch and laugh," she added of her iconic show "The Carol Burnett Show," which ran for 11 seasons from 1967 to 1978. "And that sometimes they were lonesome and were cheered up by our show. That's a good feeling."
Of her upcoming birthday, Burnett expressed disbelief that she could be turning the big 9-0.
"I can't wrap my head around it," she told the magazine. "I still feel like I'm about 11, but I'm amazed. It sure went fast."
The beloved comedian continued, "But I'm glad because I've got all my parts -- got my hips, I got my knees and I've got my brain, so I'm happy about that."
