Duchess Kate's former teachers surprise her during visit to Wales
Kate had a surprise reunion on an official visit to Wales with Prince William.
Duchess Kate was surprised with a blast from her past during an official visit to Wales Tuesday with Prince William.
Kate, 38, had a surprise reunion with two of her former teachers outside of an ice cream shop she and William visited in Mumbles, Wales.
The teachers, identified by U.K. media outlets as Denise Evans-Alford and Kevin Alford, taught Kate when she attended St. Andrew's, a prep school in Pangbourne, Berkshire.
The meeting on Tuesday was reportedly the first time the Alfords had spoken with Kate since she left St. Andrew's more than 20 years ago.
In later years, Kate went on to attend another school named St. Andrews -- St. Andrews University, where she met her future husband, Prince William.
William and Kate, now the parents of three children, spent the day in Wales meeting with local families, students and workers.
The duke and duchess of Cambridge ended their day in Wales with a visit to a local boxing gym.
The gym, Bulldogs, uses boxing to "involve, educate and inspire young people and their families," according to Kensington Palace.
