Emmy nominations 2021: Kaley Cuoco, Sterling K. Brown and more react

The nominations were revealed on Tuesday morning.

Some of the biggest names in TV are reacting to earning 2021 Emmy nominations.

Emmy Award-winning father-daughter duo Ron and Jasmine Cephas Jones announced the contenders for the upcoming 73rd Emmy Awards during a virtual ceremony on Tuesday morning.

"The Crown" and "The Mandalorian" tied for the most nominations, receiving 24 nods each, while "WandaVision" followed closely with 23.

"The Handmaid's Tale" and "Saturday Night Live" each received 21 nominations.

Following the announcement, stars of the comedies, limited series and dramas took to social media to react to the recognition from the Television Academy.

Sterling K. Brown

The "This Is Us" actor earned a nomination for lead actor in a drama series for his performance in the hit show. He was also nominated in the outstanding narrator category this year as well.

Emma Corrin

Corrin, who received a nomination for outstanding lead actress in a drama for "The Crown," issued the following statement:

"It Is Absolutely Essential That I See The Queen!" Huge congratulations to my wonderful co-star and mentor Olivia Colman. It's an unbelievable honour to be nominated in this category alongside you and such other wonderfully talented actors. This nomination only exists because of Josh and all my family on The Crown. Every part of my involvement in telling this story has felt like a dream I don't want to wake up from - I'm so happy and so honoured by the recognition. Thank you!"

Kaley Cuoco

The actress shared her incredible reaction to earning a nomination for lead actress in a comedy series for "The Flight Attendant."

Brendan Hunt

The actor and co-creator of "Ted Lasso" was nominated for best supporting actor in a comedy for his performance in the Apple TV+ sitcom.

"Getting nominated for an acting Emmy is as thrilling as it is surprising. Not only was this kind of thing never something I was planning or pining for, but also I'm not even the "best supporting actor" on my own show. I am appreciative of, and humbled by, this recognition; but far more appreciative that so many of my castmates have received the same. We're a team, but maybe we're a team with a deep bench."

Steven Canals

"Pose" co-creator and executive producer Steven Canals celebrated earning 2 nods for his work on the FX drama.

Billy Porter

The actor was nominated in the lead actor in a drama category for "Pose."

"I am honored and humbled to have my work once again be recognized by the academy," Porter said in a statement. "I stand at the intersection of art and activism, and I am forever grateful for the healing journey that POSE has been for myself, my colleagues and the world!"

Jack Quaid

The actor appeared in "The Boys," which earned 6 nominations

Nicola Coughlan

The actress, who plays Penelope Featherington in the Netflix drama, "Bridgerton," shared a tweet about the show earning 12 nominations.

Symone

Symone, winner of season 13 of "RuPaul's Drag Race," shared a message about the show's competition program nomination.

Megan Stalter

The comedian, who appeared on HBO's "Hacks," celebrated the show's comedy series nomination.

Paul Bettany

The "WandaVision" actor, who was nominated in the outstanding lead actor in a limited series or movie category, issued the following statement:

"What fantastic news to wake up to this morning! I'm deeply honoured to have been nominated for what was a dream role for me, and I'm thrilled for all of my WANDAVISION family for the love they received from the academy. And then to see UNCLE FRANK get recognised as well makes this the happiest of mornings."

RuPaul

"RuPaul's Drag Race" earned 11 nominations, in categories including outstanding competition program, outstanding host for a reality or competition program, outstanding casting for a reality program and more. Read RuPaul's statement below:

"On behalf of the Drag Race family, we are beyond grateful to the Television Academy for recognizing the love and passion that we poured into every frame of season 13. We couldn't do what we do without the unwavering support of ViacomCBS, VH1 and World of Wonder. I have the distinct pleasure of working with the most creative and dedicated cast and crew in television. But the success of Drag Race starts and ends with our amazing queens. It's their tenacity, creativity and vulnerability that tells queer kids everywhere that they are loved and worthy of celebration."

Leslie Odom Jr.

The singer and actor earned a nomination for outstanding lead actor in a limited or anthology series or movie for his role in "Hamilton" on Disney+.

"I'm very thankful to the Television Academy for this acknowledgment!" he shared in a statement. "Reverberations from Lin-Manuel's masterpiece continue to surprise and delight those of us that were lucky enough to be in the original company. So grateful for the support the film has received from audiences and the team at Disney+. What a morning!"

Cast of "Friends"

HBO Max's "Friends: The Reunion" special received a variety special (pre-recorded) nomination. Courteney Cox shared a cast photo with director Ben Winston, captioning the snap, "The one where we are incredibly grateful to the Academy for this honor and especially thankful for @mrbenwinston and his entire team for their outstanding achievement."

Dan Levy

The "Schitt's Creek" star was nominated in the guest actor in a comedy series category for hosting "Saturday Night Live."

Zach Braff

The actor said he was "so honored and happy" to be nominated for his directing work on "Ted Lasso."

The 2021 Emmy Awards, hosted by Cedric the Entertainer, will air Sunday, Sept. 19 at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT on CBS.
