Jason Aldean is one of the many entertainers in the country music industry giving back amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.

The Georgia-born singer recently donated $200,000 to health care corporation Navicent Health in his hometown of Macon. The company provides care at more than 50 facilities throughout central and south Georgia.

Aldean's donation will assist in funding more PPE and COVID-19 testing equipment to help monitor patient health in the various hospitals the health care organization services.

There were 10,566 confirmed cases and 371 reported deaths from COVID-19 in Georgia as of Thursday.

"We are grateful for Jason’s continued support and his commitment to his hometown," Ellen Terrell, president of Navicent Health Foundation, said in a statement. "We hope this will result in the greatest good for central Georgia during this unprecedented time."

Aldean's donation will also help support the organization's "Feed the Fight" initiative which aims to help local restaurants that have closed their doors due to the pandemic. The funds donated to the initiative are used to purchase meals from these establishments to feed health care workers.
