Jessica Alba celebrates daughter turning 13 in sweet tribute
"You have a heart of gold," she wrote in a message to her daughter.
Jessica Alba celebrated her daughter Honor's 13th birthday on Monday by sharing an adoring message for her.
In a post featuring three photos of her oldest child, the actress and mother of three wrote about how much Honor regularly impresses her.
"Honor -yes you are way taller than me already, which you love to remind me of on the daily," she began. "You have a heart of gold, you are filled with compassion, you are wicked smart, silly, hilarious, and so kind... I’m just so proud of you 😢"
"I’m sorry that whenever I look at you too long, I burst into tears - they are happy tears because the love is so deep and so profound and sad that I can’t push pause," she continued, "so you are gonna have to accept my emotional outbursts boo."
She went on to say that she considers her daughter "choosing" her to be her mom as "one of the greatest gifts in life."
Alba also shared her wishes for her daughter as she enters her teenage years.
"I hope your teens are everything you hoped for and more, remember to soak up every moment," she advised, finishing her message by adding, "I love you with my whole heart and soul."
The actress and her husband, Cash Warren, are also parents to 9-year-old Haven and 3-year-old Hayes. Last year, the couple opened up on one parenting principle that they are totally in agreement on.
"One thing that Jessica and I are 100% aligned on is that we’re not raising a--holes," Warren told Drew and Jonathan Scott's Reveal Magazine. "If they get out of line, we’re not going to stand for it."
"We’ve tried to maintain the values our parents taught us," he added.
Alba also emphasized how important "setting boundaries and routines" is in their household.
"They have to make their beds. They have to set the table, clear the table -- those are no-brainers, right? They participate in taking care of the home and themselves," she said.
