Cody Johnson's 'Leather' wins album of the year
Cody Johnson took home the CMA Award for album of the year for "Leather."
In his speech, Johnson said he didn't expect to win.
"There's no way I could have created an album like this without great songwriters, without people that pour their heart and soul out every day on Music Row," he added.
Other nominees in the category included "Deeper Well" by Kacey Musgraves, "Fathers & Sons" by Luke Combs, "Higher" by Chris Stapleton and "Whitsitt Chapel" by Jelly Roll.
