Lizzo drops feel-good anthem 'About Damn Time,' announces new album
Lizzo's new studio album, "Special," will release July 15.
Lizzo is back!
After teasing fans she would be releasing the "song of the summer" this week, the three-time Grammy winner made good on that promise when she dropped her new single, "About Damn Time," on Thursday.
The new track is an upbeat feel-good anthem -- a go-to for Lizzo -- and the video matches the song's energy as she gallivants down a hallway in a blue sparkling ensemble and sings about being "way too fine to be this stressed."
"Turn up the music, turn down the lights / I got a feelin' I'm gon' be alright / Okay (Okay), alright / It's about damn time," she sings in the chorus.
In addition to dropping her new song, Lizzo announced on social media that her forthcoming new studio album, "Special," is due July 15.
The album's artwork, which shows a headshot of the "Truth Hurts" singer from the shoulders up as she looks off into the distance while wearing a sparkly headpiece, accompanied the announcement.
