July 29, 2006 — -- Desperate Housewife actress Nicollette Sheridan grew up in England where she attended a school of the arts. It is an experience that she treasures and she wishes more children could express themselves through music and theater.

Now, she is lending her name to VH1's Save the Music Foundation and is promoting an online auction sponsored by Crest White Strips in which 100 percent of the proceeds will go towards instruments and music classes in America's schools.

The VH1 Save the Music Foundation was created in 1997 and since then, nearly $30 million worth of new musical instruments have been donated to 1,200 public schools in 80 cities. An estimated 700,000 children have benefited from the program.

There are more than 30 items up for the white-themed auction, including a white guitar signed by James Blunt, a white Prada handbag, and Sheridan's own summer survivor kit, comprised of a white Louis Vuitton tote, Eugenia Kim hat, Mark Jacobs sunglasses and a Kate Spade iPod case.

Even Sheridan, who is engaged to singer Michael Bolton, recently made a foray into the music industry when she recorded the song "The Second Time Around" with Bolton. The song is symbolic of the couple getting back together after dating more than 14 years ago.
