A new campaign is encouraging you to turn your small talk into a potentially life-changing conversation for the nation's 400,000 children currently in foster care.

In honor of Foster Care Awareness Month this May, Disney is teaming up with the nonprofit group Foster More to launch the #DonateYourSmallTalk campaign to encourage everyone to not waste time talking about the weather and raise awareness to the hundreds of thousands of children in need of a forever home.

Most foster kids get just 10 minutes and a trash bag to pick up their lives when they move homes, according to Foster More.

In a new PSA, Foster More is showing just how easy it is to change the conversation and spread the word in a way that can help millions of children.

It currently takes 34 months, on average, for foster kids to get adopted, and 1 in 5 foster children will be homeless when they age out of foster care.

Raising awareness and changing the conversation can help these children find families.
