James Charles cancels 'Sisters Tour' after feud with fellow beauty vlogger Tati Westbrook
The YouTube star needs time to himself.
Popular beauty vlogger James Charles has decided to cancel his highly anticipated "Sisters Tour."
The 20-year-old was scheduled to travel across 24 U.S. cities to show live tutorials, host surprise giveaways, do interactive Q&A's, and more.
"A lot has gone on in the past few weeks, which has led many people, including myself, wondering what was going to happen to the tour," Charles said in a video posted on May 24.
"And after the last week of meetings and phone calls, and trying to figure it all out, we have officially come to the very, very tough decision that I am canceling the 'Sisters Tour.'"
The news of his canceled tour comes only a few weeks after a video surfaced of beauty vlogger Tati Westbrook posted a video outlining her issues with Charles -- that has since gone viral.
Charles also went on to explain that the decision to cancel the tour was solely his own. "This was 100% my decision," he says.
"None of the venues pulled out, none of the brands that were gonna' be sponsoring it pulled out, and keep in mind, it was almost completely sold out. Less than one percent of people who bought tickets contacted about refunds."
"So the 'Sisters Tour' is not being canceled because I was canceled."
Charles makes it clear in the video that after everything that's happened, he needs time to take time to himself and focus on things that make him happy.
Shortly after Westbrook's initial "Bye Sister" video that initially spiked Charles' loss of millions of followers, she posted another video expressing that she was ready for the hate against her former mentee to stop.
"I do want the hate to stop," she added about online abuse toward Charles. "I want the picking sides, and the abusive memes and the language, and all of that [to stop]."
On May 18 Charles posted an emotional 41-minute video titled "No More Lies" in which he responds to the ongoing feud and backlash between him and Westbrook.
"I think we're all aware at this point that this has gone way too far," Charles said in the clip. "There's nobody that wants this over with as much as I do."
