— -- 1. Wipe clean with damp paper towel.

2. Press between two heavy books, wrapping leaf in newspaper. (A heavy book is fine, but works best when even pressure is applied on both sides; two wooden cork boards work well too.)

3. Apply thin coat of paint on leaf.

4. Place painted side down at desired location on paper.

5. Put small piece of wax paper over it and press down with heavy book

6. Lift leaf and do over again. Continue to create desired pattern on paper and envelope.

7. Frequently wash hands to keep fingers clean and prevent accidental smudging on paper.

8. Wash brush with soap and warm water in between use of different colored paints.
