Dec. 1, 2008 — -- The holiday spirit is free-flowing in the "GMA" studio thanks in part to decorators from the Biltmore estate, which helped trim the space this year.

The Biltmore, located in Asheville, N.C., knows Christmas. Annually more than 1 million tourists visit the location, with as many as 300,000 coming during the holiday season.

Decorating the expansive property, site of the nation's largest private residence, can be daunting. With more than 50 indoor holiday trees and 25,000 ornaments, the locale is ablaze with festive fare.

It's all in keeping with the traditions that began on Christmas Eve in 1895, when then-owner George W. Vanderbilt first welcomed friends to Biltmore to check out the estate's Christmas splendor.
