Dr. Josephson answers the question: 'Is There Really A Season For Allergies?'
— -- Question: Is there actually a season for allergies, and if so, what is it?
Answer: Allergies have different seasons and some allergies are all year long. So the perennial allergies which are all year long includes dust, molds dogs, cats. And molds peak usually during the wet seasons -- so in June, July when it gets really humid, you'll catch a little bit of a peak.
And then you'll catch a real big peak in the fall when you have the leaves with the water and the mold growing in the leaves and you'll find that mold peaks in the fall. Then there are allergies that are seasonal. You have the trees which usually start at the end of March and go through June. Then you usually have the grasses that start in about June and go through the summer. And then in August, you have the ragweed, which starts at the end of August and goes through the early fall.
