Answer: Alzheimer's disease is a progressive, degenerative disease of the brain. The most obvious symptom of Alzheimer's tends to be loss of the ability to form and retrieve new memories.

But, in fact, as the disease progresses, all thought is lost and the disease is invariably fatal.
