Does Everyone Need To See Their Doctor Before Starting To Exercise?
Gerald Endress answers the question: 'Getting Doctor's Okay on a Fitness Plan? '
February 1, 2009 -- Question: Does everyone need to see their doctor before starting to exercise, and what are the things doctors are looking for before they approve a fitness plan?
Answer: Well if you've never been active before you probably need to see your doctor and have them do a physical on you and make sure you're not at high risk for any incidence that could occur during exercise. The things that they'll look at will be your blood pressure, if you have any joint or muscular problems, if you have diabetes and also they look at your age and your activity from the past or activity history.
Once they do that and they clear you for exercise then it's a lot easier to get started and feel safe and comfortable.
