February 1, 2009 -- Question: What are some tips for maintaining an exercise routine?
Answer: Well you want to focus on consistence and less on intensity when you're starting an exercise routine. So focus on short bouts of exercise before you focus on the length of the time. You may want to focus on doing more exercise throughout the week. So you could start with 10 minutes of exercise and gradually increase, maybe five minutes a day or you might want to start with 30 minutes and gradually increase up to 45 or 60 minutes.
If your exercise routine gets boring, which happens to a lot of folks, then you want to go ahead and maybe get a personal trainer involved or try a new class and maybe even just trying a new machine will help you get started again.
