8,000 Glowing Balloons Commemorate Fall of Berlin Wall

Germany marks 25 years since infamous wall fell.

— -- Thousands of glowing balloons have taken over Berlin this weekend as Germany marks 25 years since the fall of the Berlin wall.

Called "Lichtgrenze 2014" -- German for "Light Border," the piece is made up of 8,000 individual glowing balloons that snake through Germany's capital.

The nine-mile chain of balloons follows the border that separated East and West Berlin. On Sunday, the balloons will be released to signal the anniveresary of the end of the country's 28-year division.
