Facebook Denies Kate Middleton Access to Account

March 28, 2011 — -- Facebook mistakenly suspended Kate Middleton's account.

To be precise, it wasn't the Facebook account of Kate Middleton, 29, fiancee to Prince William. It belongs to another 29-year-old Kate Middleton, a health care assistant from Kingsway, Northants, in the U.K.

Facebook suspected Middleton of masquerading as England's next princess and the bride-to-be, subsequently shutting down her account since last week, according to the Telegraph newspaper.

Middleton is astounded at Facebook's mistake, saying, "It's ridiculous, if they had gone into my account, they could see who I was. My profile picture is of me and I don't look anything like [William's] Kate."

So far, Facebook has yet to fix the error, preventing Middleton access to her library of contacts and photographs.

A Facebook representative says, "Of course, we make an occasional mistake. This is an example. When this happens, and it's brought to our attention we work quickly to resolve the issue."

Whatever the outcome, future royal Middleton has Facebook on her side, guarding her identity day and night.
