March 14, 2011— -- We're getting ever closer to the royal wedding April 29, so it's time to think about practicalities.

Hotel prices are soaring and rent is going through the roof but, fear not, a campsite has come to the rescue.

Royal wedding watchers who want to come to London without bursting the bank can use a special campsite.

"Camp Royale" is to be set up on Clapham Common in south London.

It's the cheap alternative but, organizers told Reuters news agency, it will have hot showers 24 hours a day, clean toilets and round-the-clock security teams. And free cups of tea (this is Britain, after all).

The "Big Royal Wedding Sleepover," as it's being called, will be open from April 28 until May 1 at a cost of $120 for three nights.

Bargain.

One note, though: Lambeth Council won't say if a licence has been granted, according to the BBC, so it might not be a bargain you can bag just yet.
