French Teacher Made Up Claim ISIS Supporter Attacked Him, Officials Say
The antiterrorism police are investigating the claims.
— -- A teacher in France who claimed he was stabbed by an ISIS supporter has now admitted that he made it up, officials says.
The teacher lied about being attacked by someone screaming about the Islamic State this morning in his classroom in a Parisian suburb, according to the Paris Prosecutor.
The incident is under investigation and the circumstances, which allegedly included a box cutter, remain unclear.
Antiterrorism authorities began looking into the incident this morning after the teacher's claims that the alleged attacker referenced ISIS.
The teacher, who has not been identified, suffered non-life threatening injuries, Paris prosecutor's office spokeswoman Agnes Thibault-Lecivre initially said this morning.
The incident comes as France remains under a state of emergency after Nov. 13 attacks by extremists linked to the Islamic State group that killed 130 people.
