Israel says strikes on military targets in Iran completed
The Israel Defense Forces said it has completed "precise and targeted strikes" against military targets in Iran -- a few hours after the military action began.
"The retaliatory strike has been completed and the mission was fulfilled," the Israeli military said in a statement.
The IDF said Israeli aircraft targeted the manufacturing facilities used to produce the missiles that Iran has fired toward Israel twice this year.
"Simultaneously, the IDF struck surface-to-air missile arrays and additional Iranian aerial capabilities, that were intended to restrict Israel's aerial freedom of operation in Iran," the IDF said in a statement.
Iran fired about 200 ballistic missiles toward Israel on Oct. 1 in retaliation for the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. Iran sent an earlier barrage of missiles in April.
