The Israel Defense Forces continued intense air and ground campaigns against Hezbollah in Lebanon and against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
The uptick in offensive operations came days after Israel marked the anniversary of Hamas' Oct. 7 assault and as Israeli leaders planned their response to last week's Iranian ballistic missile attack.

The Israel Defense Forces said Hezbollah struck one of its bases Sunday, killing at least four soldiers.
Another seven soldiers were "severely injured," according to the IDF statement.
"The IDF shares in the grief of the bereaved families and will continue to accompany them," the IDF said.
At least 22 people were killed after the Israel Defense Forces shelled a school housing displaced people in the Al-Mufti area, north of Nuseirat, in the central Gaza Strip, the Gaza Health Ministry said Sunday.
Among the deceased were 15 women and children, officials said, and at least 80 others were injured.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health said Sunday that 51 people were killed and 174 others were injured in attacks in Lebanon by Israeli forces on Saturday.
Officials with the Ministry of Health said most of the deaths occurred in Mount Lebanon and south Lebanon.
