Syria, My Beloved Broken Home

In 2011, photojournalist Carole Alfarah turned her camera onto a subject close to her heart -- her own homeland, Syria. Documenting a civil war that was rapidly spreading underneath her own feet, she documented the sorrow and loss of her neighbors. Documenting Syria from 2011 to 2014, Alfarah observed, "All civilians could be victims of this bloody conflict, death does not discriminate in Syria."
