Prince Charles Takes a Tumble
L O N D O N, Aug. 3 -- Britain's Prince Charles was takento hospital today after falling from his horse while playingpolo, his spokeswoman said.
The 52-year-old prince was taking part in a charity match inCirencester, Gloucestershire, western England, when the accidenthappened.
"He has been taken to Cirencester Hospital. We don't thinkthere's been any broken brones but we are waiting for reportsfrom the hospital," the spokeswoman said.
First the Queen Mum, And Now This
Charles, a keen sportsman, has been injured in the past insimilar spills. He broke his arm playing polo more than 10 yearsago, and earlier this year he broke a shoulder bone falling fromhis horse during a fox hunt in Derbyshire, central England.
It has already been a worrying week for members of theBritish royal family. On Wednesday the Queen Mother, who will be101 on Saturday, was taken to hospital suffering from anaemia.
The mother to reigning monarch Queen Elizabeth left hospitalon Thursday after undergoing a blood transfusion.
