March 1, 2011— -- For die-hard royal wedding followers determined to make it to Prince William and Kate Middleton's big day, navigating London on the cheap might seem intimidating.

Travelocity has some tips for those looking to make it to London for the big day:

Book Vacation Packages

Save money by booking the flight and hotel together as a packing instead of a la carte. Also, if you are willing to stay just outside the center of the city it can help save cash as well.

For about $930 per person, you can travel from New York to London for three nights and stay at the Holiday Inn Express Croydon in East London, which includes a breakfast buffet. If you were to book this hotel/flight package separately, it would cost about $1,100 per person.

If you would rather stay in a more central location, it will cost about $1,300 per person for airfare and a stay at the five-star London Marriott Hotel Park Lane, which overlooks Hyde Park.

Wake Up Bright and Early

People will start to line up on the processional route a day before the wedding, so get out there bright and early. If you can't get a good spot on the processional route, opt for a viewing party

Couldn't get a spot on the processional route? Viewing parties are being held all around London and vary in price. One place you could go is The Stafford Hotel, where they will have a large TV screen in addition to British food and beer (reservations required) for about $140 per person.

Save Sightseeing for After the Wedding

Tourists expecting to go out and see the sights minutes after Kate and Will say "I do," think again – many attractions will be closed since it will be a public holiday.

Attractions Not To Miss

And you can't forget to enjoy high tea while you are in London – this time, Royal Wedding style. The Podium restaurant at the Hilton is offering "sapphire tea" for about $52 per person, including white chocolate cupcakes with 'bouquet' icing, biscuit tuile with blueberries and blueberry jam cupcakes with 'K' and 'W' iced decorations.
