— -- A Tennessee groom says never in his “wildest dreams” did he believe a photo from his recent wedding would go viral -- but the groom, Waleed Abbasi, jumped, literally, right into the fray.

Abbasi, 28, photobombed his new wife, Sidra Zahid, by jumping right behind her as she posed for a solo shot in Washington, D.C., just after their March 27th wedding.

Abbasi says the “spur of the moment” moment came towards the end of a four-hour long wedding shoot that took them all around Washington's famous monuments.

"Jason [the photographer] decided to take some solo shots of the bride and I was told to go stand in the corner (apparently brides are more important than the grooms),’” Abbasi joked to ABC News. “I got out of the way to let Jason take Sidra's solo shots and went and stood next to our friends.”

“After they took a couple of shots, I had this sudden urge to do something ridiculous; I mean who wouldn't especially dressed like that,” he said referring to Zahid’s traditional dress, or Lehenga, and his “genie shoes,” khussas.

“As soon as I saw the opportunity, I took a running start and jumped up behind Sidra and that was it,” Abbasi said. “No planning. No retakes and completely spontaneous.”

Luckily the couple’s wedding photographer, Jason Arvaci of Nuvoria Studios, was just as quick with the camera as Abbasi's wit.

“When he jumped up behind her, that was the same moment I clicked the shutter and when that happened I knew it was going to be a nice outcome,” Arvaci told ABC News. “I just laughed at it and showed it to them and it was just hysterical.”

Abbasi’s says his bride was understandably “shocked” at first – especially by Arvaci yelling “I got it!” in the moment - but then appreciated her husband’s prank.

“As soon as she figured out what I just did she also started to laugh,” Abbasi said. “She appreciates my spontaneity.”

Reddit users also appreciated Abbasi’s spontaneity, posting over 1,000 comments on the photo since he posted it last week.

“In all honesty it wasn't even in our wildest dreams that this simple act of silliness would get so much attention,” Abbasi said. “What a great way to start our new married life."
