Christy Lewis started painting in 2010. With a small daughter that loved having her face painted, Lewis saw an opportunity to unleash her creativity while keeping her 4-year-old involved. Her face paintings impressed those that saw them, and she was soon in high demand for local events and birthday parties.

- Christy is completely self-taught, using her daughters to practice her ideas. Most face paintings take 5 to 10 minutes, although some more detailed pieces – which have often been painted for competitions – can take an hour or so.Thankfully her daughters still love being transformed into all sorts of interesting creatures.
