Photographer Ty Foster says he was inspired for his series "Timeout" after his father sent him a text message showing two dogs sitting in the backyard after trips to the vet.

The dogs were both wearing “the cone of shame,” Foster says, “and both looked absolutely miserable.”

The cones, called Elizabethan collars, are used in the healing process, but for dogs they can feel like a timeout.

"We've all experienced the emotional hardships that our animals have to endure while wearing the cone and I really wanted to showcase those trials and tribulations in this series," Foster writes.
