The Rescue Dog Who Can't Stop Smiling

— -- Meet Meatball: The adorable, friendly and rotund pit bull mix that can't help but flash his brightest smile as soon as he sees a camera.

"As soon as the camera turns on he just gets this huge grin on his face," his owner Lisa Reilly told ABC News. "It cracks me up!"

And she's not the only one. Meatball has garnered more than 35,0000 followers on Instagram, thanks to his toothy grin and big personality. Her weekly 'Meaty Monday' posts have amassed a loyal following.

Reilly describes Meatball as "such a ham."

Meatball caught Reilly's attention too -- two years ago in a picture, which led her to adopt him from Fresno Bully Rescue. And though he was far from well-trained at first, she said he is now a very disciplined dog.

It was Meatball's signature physique that originally inspired his name.

"He literally just looks like meatball," Reilly said. "He has no neck and he has no waist."

Only 14 inches tall and weighing in at 70 pounds, its no surprise Reilly said Meatball is never one to miss a meal. But its his love of food that gets him to flash that million dollar smile in front of the camera.

Meatball's in it for the treats.

"As soon as the treats come out, he just goes crazy," Reilly told ABC News. "And any time the camera’s on, he knows he's getting food."

Whatever it is that gets him smiling, people can't get enough of Meaty's hilarious photos.

Reilly agrees. "I just don’t know how you could not laugh every time hes around!" she said.
