June 24, 2011— -- When Nightline first reported on Facebook's new facial recognition tool -- "Tag Suggestions," the latest feature added to the social media giant's photo album interface -- we asked our viewers: was it cool? Or creepy?

ABC News' Nick Schifrin tested facial recognition technology to see how effective the computer software was in recognizing his face as he wore various disguises.

Watch Nick's full report HERE.

We asked our viewers to do the same: Send in a photo of yourself in disguise, and we'll do the work to check the effectiveness of this software.

We enlisted the help of Face.com's founders, Gil Hirch and David Speiser, masterminds in facial recognition technology, to see if your photo could fool their software.

And here are the results...

Viewer Alicia Santore sent us a picture of herself disguised as a male pirate -- scruffy facial hair, bandana, blackened teeth and all:

But this is Alicia in real life:

Face.com reported a 24 percent match of the two photos. While still a significant match, the disguise worked "very effectively," according to these experts.

Thank you to all of our Nightline viewers who participated!
