"I have been considering it and I am leaning in that direction and more information will be forthcoming soon," Carson told ABC News in a statement this evening.

Carson plans to endorse Trump on Friday morning at Trump's news conference at the Mar-A-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Florida, according sources familiar with Trump’s news conference.

Carson's campaign has a close relationship with Trump's campaign. Carson's former campaign manager, Barry Bennett, now works as an adviser to Trump and the two campaigns have coordinated their efforts on multiple occasions -- from protesting debate formats, to working together to attack Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas.
