Donald Trump: How He's Used Twitter to Attack Women
Here’s a list of his most memorable tweets.
— -- In one of many memorable Donald Trump moments at Thursday's first GOP debate, moderator Megyn Kelly honed in on the presidential candidate for the disparaging comments he’s made about women on Twitter.
"You've called women you don't like fat pigs, dogs, snobs and disgusting animals," she said.
“Only Rosie O’Donnell,” the real estate giant interjected with a smirk, unleashing a burst of raucous laughter from the crowd. He later cited his impatience for "political correctness" as justification for his many remarks.
Trump, no stranger to attacking public figures of any gender, claimed on ABC's Good Morning America on Friday that Kelly "came up with words" that he "didn’t recognize" whatsoever.
Hurt by her line of questioning, he endorsed tweets calling her a “bimbo,” “hostile and unprofessional,” and “astonishingly biased."
Later Friday, on CNN, Trump doubled down on his feud with Kelly, saying "you could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her ... wherever."
That attack drew ire from the Republican Party, from RNC spokesman Sean Spicer to presidential candidate Carly Fiorina, who tweeted that she stands with Kelly.
Trump also got the boot from the high-profile RedState Gathering in Atlanta. Organizer Erick Erickson wrote on the event's website, “I just don’t want someone on stage who gets a hostile question from a lady and his first inclination is to imply it was hormonal. It just was wrong."
In a statement today, Trump's campaign called Erickson a "total loser" who "has a history of supporting establishment losers in failed campaigns." His campaign said "only a deviant would think anything else" about Trump's comment about Kelly.
"Mr. Trump made Megyn Kelly look really bad --- she was a mess with her anger and totally caught off guard," his campaign said. "Mr. Trump said "blood was coming out of her eyes and whatever" meaning nose, but wanted to move on to more important topics."
While Trump may not have time for “political correctness,” he has had the chance to unleash a slew of tweets attacking women over the years. Here’s a list of his most memorable:
