Trump nicknamed them "Little Marco" and "Lyin' Ted," respectively, and blasted them on the social media platform and on the debate stage throughout the primary campaign.
Here are a few highlights of his insults to Rubio and Cruz on Twitter:
Rubio is weak on illegal immigration, with the worst voting record in the U.S. Senate in many years. He will never MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 15, 2016
Senator Marco "amnesty" Rubio, who has worst voting record in Senate, just hit me on national security-but I said don't go into Iraq. VISION— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 23, 2015
Lightweight choker Marco Rubio looks like a little boy on stage. Not presidential material!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 26, 2016
Wow, Lyin' Ted Cruz really went wacko today. Made all sorts of crazy charges. Can't function under pressure - not very presidential. Sad!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 3, 2016

Cruz was booed during his speech for failing to endorse Trump. He told delegates and voters to "vote your conscience" in November and never specifically said that people should cast their ballots for the Republican nominee.
Rubio, meanwhile, hit at Hillary Clinton in a pre-taped video played at the convention, saying "she turned her back on the fallen heroes in Benghazi and then she lied about it to the American people." He ended by calling on the party to unite. "It's time to win in November," he said.
