2 Mansions Resembling White House Up for Grabs

— -- Less than 20 miles away from America's most well-known address, 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., are two homes that boast the same vaulted ceilings, white rounded porticos and expansive lawns famous to the White House.

The mansions, both in the exclusive McLean, Virginia, neighborhood just outside the nation's capital, are looking for new homeowners.

Selling for a cool $2,690,000 this mansion has six bedrooms, seven bathrooms and its own Truman-style balcony. Built in 1995 by a Vietnamese-born engineer, this nearly 14,000-square-foot White House replica took six years to build, The Washington Post reports.

The builder, Thanh Nguyen, replicated the president’s house as an architectural “thank you” to his adopted country, according to The Post.

The mansion sits three stories tall and has a three-car garage as well.

The balcony resembles the one overlooking the South Lawn of the White House. It was built as an ode to the balcony completed in 1948 during President Harry S. Truman's presidency.

Just two miles away, this White House-style house is 12,500 square feet. Built in 1989, the mansion is situated on a 2-acre lot perched on a knoll.

The home features six bedrooms, seven full baths and three half-baths. Five of the bedrooms have en-suite baths; the owners’ suite also includes a fireplace, a wet bar and two walk-in closets.

The owners plan to sell the home in an online auction later this month. The home costs nearly $4 million but the owners will start the bidding at around $2 million, The Post reports.

But unlike the real White House, this one has a pool.
