Marco Rubio channels his inner NASCAR dad, takes a spin around Daytona Speedway

The Republican senator visited the track on Tuesday.

Rubio, R-Fla., visited Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida — home to NASCAR's largest race, the Daytona 500 — where he toured the facility and met with officials

But the most notable part of his visit was when Rubio took a lap around the track in a pace car. "He's pacing. He's pacing," a voice is heard saying in a video Rubio's office tweeted. "Sen. Rubio finishing his first lap at Daytona."

Rubio tweeted, "Always great to visit @NASCAR’s @DISupdates, an important hub of job creation and tourism for #Florida."
