— -- Voters in the state of Utah are heading to the polls on Election Day 2016.
There are six electoral votes at stake in Utah in the presidential race. Utah allows for early voting.
Utah is among the most Republican states, along with Wyoming and Idaho. The Republican nominee has won the state every year for the last five decades. However, this state, which hasn't gone blue in decades, is at risk this year because of the independent candidate Evan McMullin. McMullin’s rapidly growing popularity in the state, especially among Mormon voters who are defecting from Donald Trump, threatens to siphon votes from the GOP nominee – increasing the odds that Hillary Clinton edges ahead or McMullin wins the state outright.
